87. The Exalted  

 

58th un-initialed sura, 7th un-initialed revealed, 8th revealed overall

 

In the name of God, the All Gracious, the All Merciful

 

 

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

 

 

 

5947 3204 189 137 1

                                    سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأعْلَى

Glorify the name of your Lord, The Exalted.

 

5948 3205 190 138 1603 2

                                         الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى

The One who created, and balanced it.

 

5949 3206 191 139 1604 3

                                       وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى

And the One who exactly measured and guided.

 

5950 3207 192 140 4

                                   وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى

And the One who brings out the pasture.

 

5951 3208 193 141 1605 5

                                       فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَى

Then He turns it into dry hay. 

 

5951 3209 194 142 6

                                      سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلا تَنْسَى

We will recite to you, therefore, do not forget-

 

5952 3210 195 143 1808 1606 7

               إِلا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى

-everything is in accordance with God2685’s will. He indeed knows the obvious as well as the hidden.

                                        وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى

And We will make it easy for you.

 

5954 3212 197 145 9

                                فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى

Therefore, keep on reminding, for the reminder may be beneficial. 

 

5955 3213 198 146 10

                                      سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَى

The reminder will be received only by those who are reverent.

 

5956 3214 199 147 1607 11

                                        وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الأشْقَى

And the most rebellious one will avoid it.  

 

5957 3215 200 148 12

                                الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى

This is the one who will enter the great Fire.  

 

5958 3216 201 149 1608 13

                             ثُمَّ لا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلا يَحْيَى

He will then neither die therein nor stay alive.

 

5959 3217 202 150 14

                                       قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى

Surely, success belongs to the one who purifies himself-

 

5960 3218 203 151 15

                                    وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى

-and commemorates the name of his Lord, and prays.

 

5961 3219 204 152 16

                                 بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَوةَ الدُّنْيَا

On the contrary they always prefer this worldly life-

 

5962 3220 205 153 1609 17

                                      وَالآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى

-while the Hereafter is far better and everlasting.

 

5963 3221 206 154 18

                            إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الأولَى

Indeed, this is so recorded in the ancient scrolls-   

 

5964 3222 207 155 1610 19

                                صُحُفِ إِبْرَهِيمَ وَمُوسَى

-the scrolls of Abraham and Moses.
